History

Since 1989, The Octopus Club has been dedicated to making sure that when an Austinite living with HIV or AIDS faces a financial emergency, there will always be a helping hand to reach out to them. The money we raise is used for cash assistance for basic living needs such as rent, utilities, medications, and food.

Over the past 19 years, hundreds of Octopus Club members have hosted parties where thousands of guests have had great times and made donations to the Fund. In 2007, we reached the one million dollar mark.
