Elton Goddard and Arthur Landin, co-chairs of the OctoTea Volunteer Committee, are looking for people to serve as volunteers on the day of The OctoTea Dance. We're asking for people to help with:

* event set-up,
* tear-down,
* check guests in as they arrive
* monitor the silent auction,
* sell raffle tickets,
* be a part of the party by having a good time.

Set-up begins around 10 am.

Shift hours during the event are 3 to 5, 5 to 7 and 7 to 9.

Tear-down shift begins at 9 and usually lasts about 15 to 30 minutes.

How can I help?
Signing up to volunteer is easy. There are 2 very easy ways to be included in volunteering for OctoTea14:

1. Go to the volunteer tab on our home page and click on the “VolunteerSpot” button. Please provide us with your email address. Choose the task and time slot of your preference.
Feel free to sign up for multiple shifts if you like.
It’s that easy.

What do I do after I sign up?
You will be contacted before OctoTea14 to verify your participation by a confirmation email from Arthur Landin or Elton Goddard, Volunteer Co-coordinators.

Do I get into the event for free?
The Octopus Club encourages volunteers to join us in maximizing the donation made to the Paul Kirby Emergency Assistance Fund. A Monetary donation of any amount is greatly appreciated. Every volunteer knows what feels comfortable for himself, so let your generosity and your wallet be your guide.

Where do I go the day of OctoTea14?
On the day of the event, upon arriving at The Long Center, please check in at “Volunteer Check-In” at the box office area. We need to know you are present and your shift is covered.

What do I wear to the event?
We encourage our volunteers to keep Austin weird!! Attire for the event is pretty varied. From khakis, jeans, to shorts to starched shirts, t-shirts or even no-shirt! Just dress comfortably and appropriately.
